Experience the unique opportunity of walking inside the ropes with PGA TOUR players on the Sunday of the competition.
As an Honorary Observer, you will join your group on the first tee prior to play where you will be introduced to the professionals, as well as the gallery. You will then walk the entire 18 holes inside the ropes, able to observe the players up close and personal as they compete.
The PGA TOUR and Tournament Staff will go over the rules with you on game day – but here are 14 tips you might want to consider before purchasing this privilege:
On the day you are walking as an Honorary Observer, please come dressed in the PGA TOUR Tournament of Champions Hawaii Golf Shirt, long pants suitable for golf are preferred; however, tailored solid-colored knee-length shorts and skirts may be worn. The starter will publicly announce each Honorary Observer’s name
- Please note that Honorary Observers must have their mobile devices turned off when inside the ropes
- Do not initiate a conversation with the players
- Do not ask for autographs during the competition
- Do not involve yourself in or consult on any official rulings
- Do not carry cameras
- Do not consume alcohol or use tobacco products while participating as an Honorary Observer
- Position yourself next to the ropes, facing the player, and never in front of the player or caddies. This position will place you behind the caddies and facing the player
- Never stand behind a player when he is addressing or playing his shot
- Always stand facing the player when he is addressing the ball
- Do not move when the player is playing his shot
- Never walk across or on the green
- Always walk around sand bunkers
- Before the players putt, position yourself next to the ropes and near the players’ exit walkway
